industrialNETworX - netX Community Platform

The netX Community Platform combines knowledge of network technologies with the people who use them.   A platform on which developers, product managers and users can ask questions, exchange experience and initiate joint projects. We are making netX technology available as Open Source and attempting to do justice to the possibilities of Social Web.

Core Concept

  • Goal Information and discussion platform about industrial networks and netX based solutions
  • User Product manager, user and developer of networked industrial devices
  • User Motivation Independent technical and strategic information about all network technologies
  • Discussion and exchange of experience about network interfaces based on netX technology netX based Open Source of all slave protocol stacks
  • netX Technology A family of ARM based Network Controllers which are developed and sold from Hilscher with the unique features that it support all types of Fieldbusses and Real-Time-Ethernet Systems within one controller. The controllers differs by the type of the ARM, the peripheral functions and the number of communication channels. Application examples with schematic, bill of material and a design in guide makes it very easy to build up network interfaces.
  • Business model Enlarge market share of netX network controller None shop, none advertising, none give away of addresses or any other information about the user

How it works

Hilscher develops and administrate the netX Community Platform and put all the technology free of charge on it. You can use it based on a license agreemeent which is in discussion at the moment. The main rules will be

  • Porting to protocol stacks to an other operating systems or an other CPUs you have to publish the ported protocol stack on the netX Community Platform
  • Warranty there is no warranty at all
  • Restriction you have to use one of the ARM based netX Controller netX 10 / 50 / 100 / 500 or any CPU in conjunction with the none CPU powered netX 5 to execute the protocol
