Definitive cyclic data maximyom sizes

I am configuring a CIFX 50-RE Ethercat slave using version v2.2.4.0 of the firmware and I am trying to work out what is the maximum length of the cyclic data I can configure.

The Ethercat Slave Protocol API document sugests in the specifications that a netX 50 card will support 1024 of input and 1024 of output data.

However the warmstart message configuration only allows up to 200 input and output and a max of 400 for both.

Has any any ideas why there is the disparity between the two descriptions?

Hi Tony,

please take care. The cifX50RE board is NOT equipped with a netX50! It uses a netX100/500.

So please confirm, that you are using a cifX50 card. In that case you should be able to use the 1024 byte.

Hello Tony,

you are not the only person mixing up netX50 with netX100/500.

The CIFX50-RE supports only up to 200 bytes input and up to 200 bytes output. The netX50 supports up to 1024 bytes in each direction.

A future version of the CIFX50-RE firmware will support up to 256/256 bytes. Get in contact with Hilscher and ask for an update.
