Notification after removed Ethernet link

Hi,

I like to know if there is any possibility to be informed by the Ethernet/IP or TCP-Stack if the Ethernet cable is removed at run-time?

Thanks in advance

Hi,

are you interested to get the information that there is no link anymore or is this a general question?

I am asking, because the EthernetIP stack will signal on the RDY/RUN LED if the stack is working or not. In case of a removed Ethernet cable will the LED switch from green to red.

Hi,

Maybe I forgot some important details. I'm working on an application that uses the EIP stack and I am interested in getting some kind of indication from the software to e.g. set the Network State LED.

Regards
Torsten

Hi,

I am not sure if the stack is able to provide this information to the user application. I saw in the manual, that this information can be transmitted over the DPM to the host. this information is available in the communication status block.
