Communication using PC-card

Hello,

I am using a PC-card(as Controller) over the Software SYCON.net to communicate with the my Evaluation Board, but something is may be wrong
the diagnose is showing, that the device (NXSB 100PNS) isn't communicating with the Controller(NETX 500 PNM) on the device status
and in the configuration status, i have the problem, that the "bus on" ist not "green" like showing in the Profinet_IO_Controller_DTM_de.pdf

to know is that, i make all the settings and configurations as showing on the corresponding pdf-file.

help, help :!: :!:
thanks

Hello Fchaleun,

which FW versions are you using on the cifX card and the NXSB100 board?

| 20.05.2008 | 08:02

Morning AJ,
the FW-Version I use is:1.101

normaly I have a NXHX 500 RE(as slave), but it's no slave, that has his description on the SYCON.net.
probably this is new on the markt.

Hi,

no the NXHX is not new anymore. But anyway, please use as Controller (master) NETX 500 PNM and as Device (Slave) NXSB 100 PNS.

hi,
it's exactly what I have done :D .

when I installed the cifx with the cifX Driver Setup Utility, i got some difficults  :
- in the assigned Configuration Files I didn't know which file with the extension .dbm I had to add. then I added up all the file.dbm from the SYCON.net, that i found.

- do I have to set the Warm start parameters :?: ? I don't think so, why my CifX is here to use as controller  .

You have to configure the Controller by using the Sycon.NET application.
Please have a look into the according API manual for the needed file names.

Maybe it is a good idea to get in contact with the Hilscher Support hotline.

hi,

I have the configuration fault 0xC0000120 (otherwise RCX_COMM_CONFIGURATION_FAULT).
could be maybe important  , I hope...

Means, that you have a problem in your configuration.

| 20.05.2008 | 14:11

hi,
I just have a question again...

:?: which Configuration do I have to do now?

-Configuration for the Master-Device(without warm start parameters) or
- Configuration for the slave-Device(without assigned Configuration files but with setting of warm start parameters)

I am asking that, why I am confusing now

You must configure both master and slave.
The master by using the Sycon.NET or the created DBM file.
The slave by a warmstart message. But what kind of slave do you have? (I know the PROFINET IO Device on a NXHX) Is this the example from the Hilscher web page or is this a loadable FW or a linkable object?

| 20.05.2008 | 14:52

I have the NXHX 500-RE as slave
and it is the example of a linkable object for rcX Beta, that you provide with the CD.

in the Sycon.NET, I can't export the "file.nxd"; did you know where it could be, please?

Are you using the example which is located in "Examples\netX50\NXHX50-RE\NXHX50_FB_RTE"?
This is not working on a NXHX500 board. This is, as I know, the only example, which includes the PROFINET IO Device stack.

You can only export *.dbm files.

this example is from the CDs name: ntX Profinet IO Device Linkable Object for rcx Beta with the Version 0.96 07/2007(year)

Ah :!:

this is the product CD of the linkable object module.
This example should work as it is.

hello 8) ,

after calling the next support it results, that my cifX-50E has perhaps a problem of configuration. and they give me a Call-ID number for the developper of the pc-card(something like that)...
knows somebody, how I could use this or try to get contact to them (I never do it before :? )?

Kind regards

what version of the Controller firmware do you use? It is shown by "cifX Setup Utility" and Sycon.net.

maybe this way helps configuring the IO-Controller:

download the firmware with "cifX Setup Utility" - do NOT add any database /configuration files!

Afterwards start Sycon.net, create a project containing a NETX500 PNM and add an IO-Device. Now double click on the icon of NETX500 PNM and select your cifX-card as download-target. Now right-click on the NETX 500 PNM icon and select "donwload" -> now the configuration is written into the firmware and the IO-Controller should be configured.

Hi,

please do not post any telephone number or email addresses from the Hilscher team here in the board.

I think the guy, which was in contact with you gave you an answer. If this will not help, call him again and provide your given support number to him.
Or replay of his email, which he sent to you.

all these basis configurations are already done
