Verify failed

Hello,

I'm using HiTOP 5.3 and tried to execute the Example 2 Tasks from the Insiders Guide on my Hilscher NXHX500-ETM Board. I'm able to compile and build the project but the verification after downloading the image to the netx fails. I get the following error message

Quote:

Verify failed, difference was detected at
address 0x80008000,
Verify aborted.

Also I can't set a breakpoint. If I want to do so at the place, proposed by the Insiders Guide I get the following error message

Quote:

Cannot write software breakpoint

I don't know where I did a mistake. I just loaded the project from the folder userguide -> examples -> 8.5 rcX Tasks.

Best regards

Lars.

Hi Lars,

don't worry about. Sometimes does the HiTOP software strange things ;-)

Did you used the right example? I mean did you choose the netX100 one?

Have you tested also an other example?

Hi AJ,

thanks for your answer. Yes I used the netX100 Example but did not test another one afterwards. Before I tried the Example02 from the examples folder. There everything worked. Today it's also possible to set breakpoints in the Tasks-example.

But it's good to know that it was only the HiTOP software that did not work as expected and now I know a restart might help.

Lars.

Hi

I am running the version 5.31.0004 and 1 out of 5 times i am able to load the project (EtherCat slave NXLOM 2.2)otherwise HITOP hangs just before the download -procedure is initiated. When this happens HITOP needs to be shut down the hard way (sys. manager).

On top of this, 5-10 times a day everything locks up when I try to stop the software execution in the NETX50.

Today I have restarted HITOP 3 times, reloaded the project and none of the times I was able to set any breakpoints.

My question is:

Is this normal with HITOP?

thx, in advance

HC

Hi,

no, not really. You've taken Hitop bugs to a new level :)

I'd recommend using the old htp file and always make a backup of it, because sometimes (or a bit more often ;) ) Hitop crashes really bad and it still manages to write it's htp file with some data, that causes trouble with the next restart. This'll cause hitop to crash even when you only try to load the project.
