Hilscher Gesellschaft fuer Systemautomation mbH
Where are the Linux drivers for I2C and USB?On the Hilscher site you claim to support Linux.
To put it bluntly, an i2c interface implemented in userspace is unacceptable. An appropropriate, portable and standard kernel interface exists, and should be used (/dev/i2c).
To put it even more bluntly: you either support linux or you don't. Supporting linux implies that you offer all standardized io interfaces there where they belong, and for most interfaces that\'s in the kernel.
If all io must be done via user space, you aren't supporting linux. And we require linux support.
Since you make publicity with it, please make all of the Linux support available.
At this time are no drivers like I2C and USB are available for our Linux distribution.
Please refer to this post . It shows which drivers are currently included.
The same information is available in the manual "Linux Board Support Package für netX", on page 8, which you could find on our homepage.
The idea from all available Linux distributions is to give you a package with which you could work. All functions, wich are not included and which you need, you have to suppliment and to share over the Linux community.
