Hi Huemler,
The BSP CD is not bootable. It contains the BSP files like PTXDist, Kernel Sources, and also some demo images. As the documentation states these tools will need to be installed under an already installed linux.
You will need to install a linux distribution (e.g. OpenSuSE) to be able to use the tools. They are mostly native linux applications, so they wont run under Windows. Probably they will run under cygwin environment, but the toolchains will need to be recmpiled and there is no warranty that it will work.

You did not install der cross-compiler toolchain. The installation procedurew is mentioned in chapter 3.2 of the manual.
3.2 Toolchain (ARM-ELF) ------------------------------------ |Component | File name | -----------|-----------------------| |Toolchain | arm-toolchain.tar.bz2 | ------------------------------------ Table 3 : Toolchain FilesInstallation Procedure:
- Unpack the toolchain archive to /opt
- Setup the path information
export PATH=$PATH:/opt/crosstool-0.38/gcc-3.4.5-glibc-2.3.5/arm-softfloat-linux-gnu/bin
(or insert the statement into ~/.bashrc)
For your other question. The NXHX Board is not yet included and must be inserted using the linux infrastructure which is the following:
- Request a Board/Machine number
- Insert this machine number into uboot
- Add a kernel patch to describe this machine id
- Build everything
I assume you have V1.000 of the BSP. For updates on the linux BSP contact the netX support. But the updates will not yet include the NXHX Board.

Hi Huemler,
no it is not ok, if you write your posts in German. Not all customers are able to speak and write German.
Please have a look into the netX forum rules at point 5.
You are right. You need a Linux installation on your workstation PC to work with the Linux BPS for the netX.
I assume there exist a misunderstanding with you and the support guy.
Maybe the supporter assumed, that you want to install a special Linux version for the netX chip it self. In this case the supporter is right with his answer, that this is not needed, because the Linux Kernel and the supported distribution (PTX) for the netX is on the BSP CD.
But normally it is clear, that you need a Linux PC to work with such kind of products.
