Hi All,
I'm using Hilscher CIF60-PB Profibus master card & sycon.
My slave is SPC3 based & uses 100ms Extended Diagnostic in Data-Exchange state.
Now in sycon "Extended Device Diagnostic->Running State, I see the frequent random flashing msg "Wait Diagnostic Type 2" instead of normal "Data Exchange" msg. I understand that It has just missed the Diagnostic sent by the slave. Now if I increase the diagnostic send cycle to 1 sec, then the msg comes once in a while (say after 10 mins random).

While there is no comm. break being noticed in faster PCs (> 800MHz) but another older PC (Win2k in Pentium III @650MHz and 128 Mb RAM) complaints about comm. breaks (Flashes RED LEDs)!!

this happens for Baud-rates 1.5, 3, 6 & 12Ms with sycon default config setup.

Any help/hint for why this happens. Is not profiBus protocol should handle diagnostic + cyclic msgs concurrently ALWAYS? Why diagnostic msg of 100ms cycle is burdenning the N/W.

GSD entries for length etc are OK>
