Q: How can Hilscher make sure that the netX is compatible to PROFINET?
A: PROFINET has become an open standard. PROFINET is documented. All patents are available to the members of PNO.
PROFINET (also IRT) was implemented by Hilscher according to our knowledge and understanding of the documentation.
Currently, no PROFINET IRT Hardware is available on the market. Consequently, we have not been able to do a compatibility test.

If we discover that we do have differences that lead to incompatibility, we have one method of correcting these:

• By changing micro-code (Software) in the netX

The micro code in the netX offers us a very high flexibility and we are confident that we can solve any issues by changing the micro-code.

PROFINET, including the IRT version, is essential to the netX product strategy.
